This Blueberry Banana Smoothie is refreshing on hot summer mornings and also fantastic as a filling mid-afternoon snack! It’s creamy, nutritious, and super delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (125g) fresh or frozen Blueberries
  • 1 Banana – sliced
  • ½ cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1 cup Whole Milk (or you can use low-fat if you prefer)
  • 2 TBLS smooth Peanut Butter (I like Skippy’s)
  • 2 TBLS Honey (more if you prefer to make this sweeter)
  • 1 TBLS ground Flaxseed
  • 1.5 TSP Almond or Vanilla Extract (your choice, both taste great!)
  • 1 cup Ice

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: Add all of the ingredients into a blender jug. Cover and blend until smooth.
  2. Serve: Pour into glasses and top with more blueberries if desired. Serve immediately!

Notes

  1. Swap the banana: Feel free to swap the banana for 1 cup chopped honeydew melon. It’s icier and refreshing, and particularly great during the summer heat! You can also make a mixed berries smoothie by replacing the banana with raspberries, strawberries, or both!
  2. Use another nut butter: You are welcome to use any type of nut butter (like almond butter, cashew butter, etc.) that you like or have on hand.
  3. Make-ahead: You can make this smoothie the night before and store in a mason jar mugs with lids in the fridge. The color may be lighter and the smoothie might be thicker the next day, but just give it a good stir with a spoon and it’ll still taste great!
  4. To make it vegan: Use vegan Greek yogurt and almond milk instead of whole milk to make a vegan smoothie.
